These delicate thistle blossoms form masses of color near our front walk. The bees and butterflies love them during their long blooms, and goldfinch are constantly flitting among them once they’ve gone to seed.
In the flower bed it is the soft purple color that draws the eye, but in the scan the different golden browns of the base of the flower are quite intriguing as well.
