I just love the miniature tulips at the base of this arrangement. Their cute little conical shapes last for no more than a day before they pop open, and then only share their beauty for a few days if it stays cool — one unseasonably hot day will end their short period of glory. They are only four or five inches high so are truly dwarfed by their bigger cousins. There are so many blooms competing for attention in those heady first days of spring like these bleeding hearts and miniature iris that they have to share the stage.
