For a few short days all of the spring ornamental trees are smothered in flowers at the same time, and pinks in various shades seem to dominate. The double ornamental cherries probably top the list, but azaleas and dogwood put on a pretty good show as well. The creeping phlox beside our driveway yield a bit more to the purple shades but they provide a nice understory to the entire spectacle. Enjoy them quick! An early hot day and their petals are gone.
